Overview

Monarch Building Consultants Pty Ltd (ABN 44 691 010 910, QBCC Lic# 15583303) ("Monarch", "we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information we collect and handle in the course of our insurance building consultancy work and through this website. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, who it may be shared with, and how you can contact us about it. This policy is intended to be consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information We Collect

We collect personal information in two main contexts:

  • Website enquiries. When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, phone number, organisation, and the content of your message. This form is processed through Netlify, our website hosting provider, which transmits the submission to us by email.
  • Claims work. In the course of conducting building assessments, roof reports, and other claims-related services, we collect information relevant to the insurance claim, which may include the Insured's name and contact details, property address, photographs and video of the property, and details of the reported damage and circumstances of the claim event. This information is provided to us by the engaging panel builder, Insurer, or loss adjuster, or collected directly during a site attendance.

How We Use Information

Personal information is used to:

  • Respond to enquiries submitted through this website
  • Conduct building assessments, prepare reports, scopes of works, and estimates for the relevant claim
  • Communicate with the engaging builder, Insurer, or loss adjuster regarding the claim
  • Meet our obligations under the General Insurance Code of Practice and applicable Queensland building regulations

We do not use personal information for direct marketing, and we do not sell personal information to third parties.

How Information Is Shared

Reports, photographs, estimates, and related claim documentation are shared with the engaging panel builder and, through them, the relevant Insurer, as part of the standard claims process. Where Monarch is engaged directly by an Insurer or loss adjuster, findings are shared directly with the engaging party.

Claim documentation is managed through PrimeEco (Prime Ecosystem), a third-party claims management platform owned by CoreLogic (Cotality). PrimeEco processes and stores claim-related data on our behalf and on behalf of the broader insurance claims supply chain. PrimeEco's handling of this data is governed by CoreLogic's own privacy policy, available at their website, and is separate from this policy.

We do not disclose personal information to any other third party except where required by law, where necessary to obtain professional advice (such as legal or insurance advice), or with your consent.

Website Hosting and Security

This website is hosted by Netlify. As with most web hosting providers, Netlify's servers automatically log standard technical information from visitors, such as IP address and browser type, for security and operational purposes. This website does not use cookies, analytics tools, or third-party tracking scripts beyond what Netlify applies as part of standard hosting and form-submission security.

Data Storage and Retention

Claim-related information is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, and in line with any applicable record-keeping obligations under Queensland building and insurance regulation. Website enquiry information is retained only as long as needed to respond to and resolve the enquiry, unless a continuing business relationship requires it to be kept longer.

Access and Correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you, or request that it be corrected, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond to such requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated.
