About Monarch
Monarch Building Consultants was founded on a straightforward idea: that insurance builders and Insurers deserve reports that are technically accurate, easy to follow, and ready to act on. Everything we do is built around that standard.
Monarch Building Consultants specialises in completing high-quality, efficient insurance building, roof causation, and specialist inspection reports and estimates across South East Queensland.
Our purpose is to bridge the gap between insurance assessment and repair execution. By delivering high-precision causation reports and resultant damage scope of works that satisfy Insurer criteria, support loss adjuster decision-making, and meet builder requirements, we streamline the initial reporting stages of any claim, while minimising the emotional and physical disruption for policyholders.
Monarch operates as an independent contractor to Insurers, insurance builders, and loss adjusters. In standard panel work, we attend the property on behalf of the appointed builder, produce the report, and return it to the builder for submission to the Insurer, keeping the role clear and the process efficient. Where a claim requires it, Monarch is also engaged directly by Insurers and loss adjusters for independent expert assessment, separate from any builder relationship. Across both pathways, our findings are independent and evidence-led, regardless of which party engaged us.
Stephen Charles King
Director, Monarch Building Consultants Pty Ltd
Stephen brings perspective from both sides of the claims process. He has served as a Senior Manager overseeing national building panel performance, training, and compliance for two well-respected, large Australian Insurers, and as Construction Manager for a national insurance builder, with experience across QBCC rectification, large loss repairs, and overall business performance.
Operating across South East Queensland from our base in Wynnum, Brisbane, covering the Gold Coast, Brisbane metro, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba regions with approximately 15–25 site attendances per week.
Every report produced must be technically accurate, written at a Grade 10–12 reading level, and easily understood by claims consultants, homeowners, and tradespeople. The logic must be clear enough that anyone can follow the trail of breadcrumbs to the same conclusion.
"An intelligent person writes a detailed report. A smart person writes one that a claims consultant can process without making a mistake."
Every person involved in the insurance claim process deserves respect: the Insured, the builder, the claims consultant, and the Insurer. This means treating every property as if it were our own, simple gestures like parking on the street rather than the driveway, removing shoes before entering a property when appropriate, and maintaining a professional, courteous presence at all times.
An insured event is often a traumatic experience for families and individuals. Monarch is committed to reducing the stress and disruption caused by the claims process through clear communication, prompt reporting, and ensuring the customer feels they are in capable and caring hands at every step.
